Expanding Innovation
SICK, a global designer and manufacturer of industrial sensor solutions, set out to consolidate and expand its North American operations into a single 550,000 sq ft campus in Bloomington, Minnesota, just steps from its existing headquarters. The $100 million development is planned in four phases over 15 years, bringing together office space, production, manufacturing, warehousing, structured parking, and future expansion capacity into one integrated campus.
Phase one delivered a 138,000 sq ft facility combining office space with sensor production and logistics, increasing manufacturing capacity by 40%. From the outset, the project was shaped around a structural approach that integrates enclosure and load-bearing performance within a single prefabricated system, reducing reliance on a separate building frame and streamlining overall construction sequencing.
