First District Association (FDA) is a dairy cooperative and manufacturer of dairy products. Over the past decade, Wells has assisted in eight large expansion projects for the Litchfield, MN, based company – including a milk receiving addition (2020), a lactose dryer tower (2019), a cheese and cooler addition (2019), and a large general plant expansion (2017).

Wells supported FDA with an integrated building approach that prioritized durability, efficiency, and operational performance across the campus. The facility expansions were designed to support demanding food processing environments while maintaining continuity in layout, construction methods, and long-term maintenance. For temperature-controlled spaces, the building enclosure strategy created an air-tight, high-performing envelope that met freezer and cooler requirements while offering a cost-effective alternative to conventional systems.
