Resilient Design That Withstands the Storm
The Legacy Center at McNeese State University is a 138,000 sq ft multi-story arena that supports the university’s Athletics and Health and Human Performance programs. Designed to bring academics and athletics together, the space accommodates 4,000 seats in the main arena and 600 in the volleyball court, along with six classrooms, twelve faculty offices, and a state-of-the-art sports training center that serves as a hands-on learning laboratory for exercise physiology students.
Early collaboration between the design team and Wells was key to the project’s success. Working together from the start of design, the team developed a prefabricated facade concept that balanced the building’s form, function, and visual identity.
