The prefabricated facade system was designed to create dynamic depth and visual interest. Multiple pattern types were strategically arranged to reflect the building’s overall layout, with panels featuring varied geometries and recesses to enhance texture and shadow. Wells provided a range of color and finish options — balancing textured sandblast with smooth acid-etched surfaces — to achieve a cohesive and visually engaging facade.
Additional prefabricated elements, including coping, cap pieces, and self-supported stair components, were integrated seamlessly, providing smooth transitions and complementing the overall facade design.
The space itself draws inspiration from the Ozark landscape, with architectural forms and outdoor areas that echo the surrounding environment. Rooftop parks, trails, and thoughtfully designed outdoor spaces connect the medical campus to the nearby forest, creating opportunities for community engagement and promoting wellness. Elevated ridges and canopies provide shade, scenic views, and accessible circulation for pedestrians, cyclists, and vehicles.
Through collaboration and expertise, Wells helped bring this vision to life — delivering a space that balances innovative medical education with a strong connection to its natural surroundings.
