High-Performance, Design Flexibility, Energy Efficiency

Centralia High School exemplifies how thoughtful design and innovative building systems can achieve both aesthetic appeal and high performance. Early in the project, the architect recognized that achieving the school board’s goal of traditional materials such as brick and stone within budget would have required sacrifices to the building’s overall scope. Wells provided a system that maintained both the design intent and the project’s financial parameters.

Steven Scoville, the Centralia designer formerly of Odle McGuire & Shook, noted, “When you think of concrete, the last thing you think of is flexibility, yet this system is extremely flexible. We found it offered the most freedom to design a building that truly reflects the community it serves.”
