Architecture That Strengthens Community and Purpose

The City of Miami College of Policing is a groundbreaking facility that uniquely combines a state-of-the-art police training academy with a magnet high school specializing in law, homeland security, and forensic science—a partnership between the City of Miami Police Department and the Miami-Dade County School Board. This 115,987-square-foot complex occupies a prominent 1.6-acre downtown site adjacent to the existing police headquarters, with a second-floor connection between the two buildings while maintaining its own distinct entrance.

We manufactured and installed 186 architectural precast concrete panels—totaling nearly 26,000 sq ft—that serve as defining visual and structural elements throughout the building. These panels are key to the building’s contemporary character and urban integration: buff-colored, sandblasted four-story panels mark the police entrance, featuring incised signage and a cast-metal badge, while a parallel high-school-branded precast wall anchors the school’s identity. On the auditorium façade, richly textured black panels—enhanced with formliner shadow effects—provide a dynamic centerpiece that ties new and existing structures together.
