Architecture That Defines Brand

Nordstrom set out to achieve a contemporary architectural expression that could evolve into a recognizable store signature—one that aligned seamlessly with the brand’s refined identity while performing at a high level across diverse markets. Architectural precast provided the flexibility and precision needed to bring that vision to life, balancing clean modern lines with subtle material depth.

The concept was shaped through an early design-assist collaboration between Wells, CallisonRTKL and the owner. By engaging early, the team was able to align architectural intent, constructability and long-term performance from the outset. The prefabricated precast façade system integrates four distinct finishes—polished, burnished, acid-etched and sandblasted—paired with a ribbed pattern of reveals. Together, these elements create nuanced variation across the white concrete panels, delivering a refined façade that reads as both sophisticated and timeless without relying on unnecessary complexity.
