An Articulate Design
Premier Bank’s newest location in Rochester, MN, brings together early 20th-century architectural charm with the speed, efficiency, and durability of total precast construction. Originally planned for traditional masonry, the project shifted to a full precast solution to stay on schedule, manage costs, and allow other trades to begin work quickly in a fully enclosed building — even during Minnesota’s winter months.
The three-story bank captures the feel of a historic institution, featuring picture frame panels, intricate cornice detailing, and thin brick finishes. Two drive-through lanes are accommodated with panels designed to support wide openings, while an elevated patio above the drive-through is supported using precast solutions. Cornices, recessed window accents, and symmetrical facades give the building its classic character while benefiting from the efficiency and precision of prefabricated construction.
The project also incorporated complex masonry-like features, including soldier coursing, brick arches, and stacked wall sections. By leveraging prefabrication, Wells preserved the architectural vision while reducing project time and cost. The finished building honors traditional design while delivering a functional, durable, and inviting space — enhancing Premier Bank’s presence and service in the community.
