Where Science and Architecture Meet Performance

The 136,000 sq ft Science Complex at FIU serves as a gateway to the Academic Health Sciences district, connecting new spaces to the existing campus while emphasizing innovation, sustainability, and occupant comfort. Six-story window panels provide solar shading and dynamic visual interest, responding to heat and sun exposure across the facade.

Prefabricated assembly allowed for off-site integration of windows and panels, accelerating the construction schedule and enabling interior work to begin sooner. Wells ensured precise panel rotation, depth, and alignment to meet FIU’s vision for a resilient, durable, and environmentally responsive space. The result is a high-performance, engaging, and sustainable space that supports the university’s academic mission.
