When Horicon School District set out to consolidate its district buildings into a single campus, Wells partnered to execute an integrated building solution. The consolidation added a 91,400 sq ft elementary school to the existing middle and high school and included a 16,100 sq ft renovation and gymnasium addition.
The district envisioned a warm and inviting design that was inspired by the marshy environment that Horicon is known for. Wells collaborated with the team to deliver insulated exterior panels featuring diagonal and linear colored striping that evokes the surrounding landscape — an approach rarely executed at this scale and one that expands the visual possibilities of prefabricated systems.
