Where Function Meets Urban Presence
The 30-story Louisville hotel is clad in architectural concrete panels, giving the city’s tallest building a striking presence within its entertainment and retail core. Designed with intersecting towers, the façade draws inspiration from the city’s rich history while signaling its growth and vitality. Wells' solutions were durable and were able to achieve the scale, texture, and color needed to complement the surrounding historic architecture.
Wells previously collaborated with HKS, Inc. on the OMNI Nashville hotel, and the team again turned to manufactured solutions for their versatility. Large panel sizes reduced the number of joints and accelerated installation, while the mix of dark charcoal and light grey finishes — with deep and light acid-wash textures accented by glitter sand — delivers a dynamic surface that shimmers in changing light. These thoughtful design choices allow the building to reflect Louisville’s character while ensuring long-term performance.
The 1.2 million sq ft project includes 612 rooms, 225 residences, and 70,000 sq ft of meeting and event space, with direct access to an additional 300,000 sq ft of convention facilities. Together, the architecture and facade bring life and energy back to a long-dormant block at the city’s crossroads.
The urban hotel achieved LEED® Silver certification.
