Crafted Architecture Supporting Performance and Place
The Recreation and Student Center serves as a campus gateway, welcoming students and visitors while connecting the university’s buildings and outdoor spaces. Its interlocking form and carefully designed entry plaza create a clear focal point for arrivals and reinforce the campus experience.
Wells provided a solution that balanced architectural expression with performance and durability. The exterior integrates prefabricated panels with thin-brick detailing and fritted glass, creating a cohesive visual identity tied to the university’s mascot while supporting energy efficiency, storm resistance, and long-term resilience. The system was designed to work seamlessly with other structural and envelope elements, including hollow-core floors, cast-in-place decks, curtain wall, masonry, and tilt-up components.
