Elevating a Minneapolis Classic

Originally opened in 1975, South Lyndale Liquors expanded into a 34,000 sq ft retail system designed to support significant growth in inventory, storage, and customer experience. The facility integrates retail and logistics into one coordinated operation, including large-scale beer and wine storage systems, a tasting feature wall, and expanded back-of-house warehousing.

The building system combines modern retail performance with a design approach that reflects the surrounding historic neighborhood. Brick coursing integrated into prefabricated wall assemblies creates depth, shadow, and texture, aligning the exterior with nearby 1920s-era architecture while delivering a more durable and efficient enclosure system. Construction required precise coordination due to the constrained Lyndale Avenue site. Installation was staged from multiple access points to maintain safety and minimize disruption along a busy urban corridor.

The result is a high-capacity retail system that blends operational efficiency, architectural character, and coordinated urban construction delivery.
