Leading the Way in Award-Winning Campus Architecture
Tamiami Hall brings a bold architectural presence to Florida International University’s campus. Positioned directly adjacent to the university’s football stadium, the 13-story, 300,000 sq ft residence hall remained under construction through two active football seasons, with surrounding fields and parking areas fully operational throughout the build.
Defined by its distinctive, piano-like facade and alternating glazing pattern, the residence hall required meticulous coordination to execute. The complex window layout demanded precise sequencing and placement of each prefabricated concrete panel. With 4,800 embed connections anchoring the system, panels had to be set exactly right the first time — like puzzle pieces aligning to create a cohesive exterior expression. Months of planning ensured accuracy, constructability, and schedule adherence within the tight campus footprint.
