Building for Discovery, Collaboration, and Creativity
The Constance and Miguel Fernandez STEM Center anchors the entrance to a historic campus, forming a new quad that reflects the school’s commitment to academic excellence, the arts and forward-thinking environments for teaching and learning. Envisioned as a 45,000 sq ft hub for math and science, the space supports a multidisciplinary approach with collaboration areas that encourage experimentation, creativity and team-based discovery.
Designed for flexibility, the center adapts to evolving educational needs through movable walls, reconfigurable furnishings and multipurpose environments. Classrooms, laboratories, faculty areas and a large adaptable gathering space allow the school to host lectures, exhibitions and robotics competitions. An outdoor laboratory at the roof level supports modular agriculture, while photovoltaic panels contribute to targeted LEED Silver or Gold certification, reinforcing the school’s commitment to responsible design.
