Naturally Sustainable Design
Set on 5.2 acres within Fort Worth’s Cultural District, adjacent to the Fort Worth Botanic Garden, the 70,000 sq ft Botanical Research Institute of Texas is a two-story research and education space designed with sustainability at its core. Achieving LEED Platinum certification — one of the first in Texas and the first in Tarrant County — the campus reflects a disciplined, integrated approach to energy efficiency, water stewardship and long-term operational performance.
Wells supported the design team to deliver a prefabricated facade system that supports both environmental performance and architectural restraint. Natural tones and subtle patterning allow the exterior to sit comfortably within its landscape, while the integrated envelope enhances durability and thermal stability. Off-site construction contributed to quality control, schedule certainty and consistent performance across the campus.
