The structural design of Porter includes a two-story precast podium that supports five stories of wood construction above. Wells helped streamline the development with designing the podium to incorporate long-span double tees, which allowed for fewer columns and easier parking layouts compared to cast-in-place structures. Additional prefabricated elements like stair and elevator shafts were utilized for their cost-efficiency and speed of installation.
