Parking That Disappears into Place

The Gallery on Knox Street includes a three-story parking garage adjacent to the flagship gallery, designed to ease congestion while reinforcing the architectural vision of the retail experience. Rather than reading as a purely utilitarian space, the parking component was conceived as an extension of the gallery itself, contributing to a cohesive and welcoming presence along the Knox Street streetscape.

At first glance, the space does not immediately read as parking. Wells partnered with the design team to apply a multi-toned, three-dimensional plaster effect through prefabricated building systems, finished in an anthracite-gray Venetian plaster aesthetic. Large windows with metal accents reflect those used on the gallery facade, while exterior lighting and repeated architectural detailing create a unified visual language across both spaces.
