Located in Cabrini-Green, the heart of the Near North side of Chicago, sits Terrace 459, a Chicago Housing Authority (CHA) affordable housing development. The latest project in the area’s revitalization, the development adds more than one hundred rental units between two buildings. Terrace 459 provides dramatic downtown and city views with reasonable rates for one- or two-bedroom units.

Constructing in a dense urban environment presented immediate challenges, including limited space for staging and no on-site storage, on top of a winter construction schedule. Wells worked closely with the project team to align a building approach that supported efficient sequencing and minimized disruption to the surrounding community. With key construction activities off-site and coordinating just-in-time delivery, the team maintained steady progress while keeping the jobsite organized and accessible.
