Consolidating Needs into One Space

Sitting on the northwest corner of South College Avenue and West Prospect Road, the 161,200 sq ft, four-story building stands as a prominent new gateway to the campus while consolidating the University’s health care services into a single location. The facility also houses a University of Colorado Health walk-in clinic, the Kendall Anderson Nutrition Center and an occupational health services clinic, alongside a full-service pharmacy on the first floor – all of which are open to the general public. In addition, the Columbine Health Systems Center for Healthy Aging occupies space within the building dedicated to research, education and outreach.

The exterior enclosure was delivered through a coordinated prefabricated cladding solutions that paired architectural concrete with natural flagstone to reinforce the campus’s established character while improving constructability. By integrating insulation and drainage within the panel system, the design eliminated the need for interior stud walls and supported a clean, efficient interior finish. This approach significantly reduced installation time, with the exterior erected in just 22 days compared to an estimated 130 days for traditional field-installed flagstone. The efficiency gained through prefabrication helped keep the overall 14-month schedule on track, ensuring the facility could open as planned for students and the broader community.
