Shaping Healthcare with Prefabricated Precision

St. Joseph’s Hospital continues its legacy of advanced healthcare with the addition of a six-story inpatient bed tower, seamlessly integrating 90 private patient rooms and critical support functions into the existing 971,000 sq ft, nine-story campus facility. The tower expands St. Joseph’s capacity while transforming the hospital’s presence on its 27-acre campus with an innovative architectural approach.

The design team pursued an organic, human-centric form for the building, softening the perception of a traditional hospital. Wells translated this vision into a three-dimensional, prefabricated concrete skin that blends design and manufacturing. The collaboration leveraged BIM technology to coordinate across design, engineering, and fabrication teams, ensuring precise execution of the curvilinear and complex geometry.
