Designing Healthcare with Resilience and Purpose

The Texas Health Frisco campus was designed as a long-term healthcare destination that balances architectural identity, operational performance, and environmental responsibility. Through a collaborative design-assist process with HKS, Wells helped develop an insulated architectural precast façade with a GateStone finish inspired by local Granbury chopped stone. A life-cycle analysis performed by HKS confirmed the building performed 2 percent better than the industry average for total embodied carbon, reinforcing the value of prefabricated concrete with integrated insulation for facilities that operate continuously.

Architectural precast defines the hospital, medical office building, and adjacent four-story, 215,000-square-foot total precast parking garage, creating a cohesive campus identity. Multiple textures, tones, and finish techniques deliver depth and durability while supporting thermal performance and efficient construction. From the clinical tower to the garage that serves as the campus gateway, the precast system sets the tone for arrival and reinforces a consistent, resilient exterior designed to serve patients, staff, and the community for decades.
